1659 - William Chase

William Chase came to America in 1630 and died in Yarmouth about the middle of May 1659. My branch of the Chase Family is descended from the William listed as his son in this will. It appears from the wording of the will and from information found in other records that William Jr. was not a very agreeable child. His father writes in his will, "I give to my son William, who hath had of me already a good portion, the sum of five shillings, to be paid in any good pay, if he demand it." It doesn't sound as if William endeared himself much to his father.

Furthermore, I have recently found this record of the death of Mary Chase, wife of William the Elder. (found at Women in Plymouth Colony)
