Bonnie J. Wilson, age 71, died peacefully on August 22, 2017 at her home in Ellsworth, Kansas, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bonnie was born May 13, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri, and lived in Beloit, Kansas for 39 years. 

Bonnie was the District Magistrate Judge in Mitchell County, Kansas for 31 years.  She received the “Lee Nusser Outstanding District Magistrate Judge Award” in honor and recognition of her leadership in the Kansas Judiciary.  She loved Kansas Jayhawks basketball, enjoyed playing golf, and spending time with her beloved family and friends.  Bonnie participated in Leadership Mitchell County, and was a board member of the Mitchell County Hospice.  She was also an active member of the Beloit United Methodist Church, where she was the sponsor of the youth group, President of the Board of Trustees, and helped with friendship meals.   Upon moving to the Ellsworth community a year ago, Bonnie was active in the Presbyterian Church and United Methodist Church and loved the bible studies she attended. 

She is survived by her husband Rod, daughters, Stephanie Reeve (Brian), Amber Peschka (Ryan) and Carrie Stone (Sterling), six grandchildren, Dylan, Chloe, Addison, Lainey, Mallory and Landon, and sisters Ruth Leaton, twin Barbara Chace, Ginger Harding, Sandra Slane, Robin Reed, and Tracie Reed, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Ruth Reed and a sister, Sharon Reed.

Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, August 30 from 4-6 PM at the Roberts Family Funeral Home in Beloit. The memorial service will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday, August 31 at the Beloit United Methodist Church.  Bonnie requested to be cremated and her ashes will be interred at the Elmwood Cemetery in Beloit immediately after the service.  A reception at the Beloit United Methodist Church will follow. Memorial donations in honor of Bonnie may be made to Beloit United Methodist Church, Ellsworth Presbyterian Church or Ellsworth United Methodist Church
